Damage Control - Safety Film
Building owners and operators can now protect people and property from the dangers of flying, falling or broken glass with HPWF's range of Safety Films. These films are manufactured from multiple layers of special class polyester film bonded with adhesives to form a heavy guage, high tensile barrier. This is then generally affixed to the inside surface of the glass with a 'super active' pressure mounting silicone adhesive, the characteristics of which are designed to complement the film to form an almost impenetrable barrier. HPWF offer a complete range of films to meet almost any safety or security risk assessment for windows, glass doors and panes.
Safety film can be applied either clear or tinted. The obvious
benefit for tinted film is added privacy,
but also helps with rejecting heat, reducing glare and blocking out damaging UV rays.

Protection When accidents or impact occurs
Glass is a standard feature in modern building design but it can pose a danger. Occupants may accidentally walk into glass partitions or glass may accidentally fall from balustrades or suspended ceilings. HPWF Safety Film can help prevent serious injuries by holding
shattered glass together. It also minimises the risk of flying shards of glass when unforeseen accidents or events occur. The application of this product meets AS/NZS2208 and AS1288/NZS4223-1996 standards, ensuring a 'Duty of Care' is met on behalf of building owners and operators.
Safety Benefits
The safety benefits include:
- Holds shattered glass together
- Prevents injuries
- Protects against flying glass shards
- Prevents property damage
- Meets building operator's "duty of care"
Professional Installation
Professional installation is essential and all HPWF Safety Films are applied by trained and accredited personnel. Installation requires an exacting preparation of frame, glazing gaskets
and glass surfaces. Plus the correct application of the window film and the use of HPWF's performance enhancing 'EdgeLock' Technology using Dow Corning 995 Structural Silicone Adhesive.
The correct installation using this system yields a triangular sealant bead cross section (see illustration left) providing the maximum bonding strength for an effective film-to-frame fastening.
